Responsibilities:
Greeting and seating customers: Warmly welcoming patrons, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus.
Taking orders: Accurately recording food and drink orders from customers, ensuring special requests and dietary preferences are noted.
Menu knowledge: Being well-informed about the restaurant’s menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.
Food and beverage service: Delivering orders to tables, ensuring the correct presentation, and promptly addressing any issues or modifications.
Upselling: Recommending additional items like appetizers, desserts, or wine pairings to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
Customer service: Providing attentive and friendly service, promptly attending to customer needs, and resolving any concerns or complaints.
Payment processing: Presenting bills, accepting payments, processing credit card transactions, and providing accurate change.
Table maintenance: Clearing and resetting tables between guest seatings, ensuring a clean and well-organized dining area.
Collaborating with kitchen staff: Communicating with chefs and kitchen personnel to ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly.
Teamwork: Coordinating with other waitstaff and restaurant staff to maintain efficient and seamless service.
Handling special requests: Managing customer dietary restrictions, allergies, or special requests for customized meals, and conveying them to the kitchen.
Adhering to health and safety regulations: Following food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe dining environment.
Knowledge of wine and beverage service: If applicable, assisting with wine selection, pouring, and serving, and ensuring proper storage and handling of alcoholic beverages.
