Responsibilities:
Maintaining a safe navigational watch at all times.
Operating and maintaining navigational equipment, such as radar, GPS, and autopilot systems.
Monitoring weather conditions and making appropriate adjustments to the ship’s course.
Communicating with other vessels and shore authorities via radio.
Keeping accurate records of the ship’s position, speed, and course.
Responding to emergencies and taking appropriate actions to ensure the safety of the ship and crew.
Conducting regular inspections of the ship to ensure it meets safety regulations.
Assisting with navigation planning and route optimization.
Training and supervising junior navigational watch officers.
Staying up-to-date with changes in navigational technology and regulations.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Attention to detail and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
Physical fitness and the ability to work long hours at sea.
