FAO Job In order to support UNICEF’s commitment to the SDGs, the Director of Child Nutrition and Development, working under the direction and supervision of the Director, Programme Group, provides technical guidance, strategic vision, and global thought leadership to UNICEF’s child nutrition and development programming.
The early childhood development team is anchored by the Child Nutrition and Development division, which is headed by the Director. Through intellectual, strategic, technical, managerial, advocacy, and knowledge leadership for the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the UNICEF Global Nutrition Strategy 2030, in both humanitarian and fragile settings, the Director consistently strengthens UNICEF’s position as a global technical leader for child nutrition and development. Additionally, the Director advises and supports the Deputy Director Early Childhood Development regarding the Early Childhood Development 2030 vision. Responsibilities:

Qualification:
Requires an advanced degree in one of the related bio-social sciences, maternal and child nutrition, public health nutrition, or nutritional epidemiology.
A minimum of 15 years of professional experience, preferably with at least 10 of those years spent abroad in senior leadership and management roles, as well as some experience in developing nations.
Proficiency in English is necessary. It is seen as a significant advantage to know another official UN language.
