Responsibilities:
Plan, create, and oversee the research for development portfolios that integrate geospatial modelling with natural resources (water and land) in the context of irrigation and agriculture that is climate resilient.
Take the lead in creating geospatial techniques to evaluate how water resources and agriculture are affected by climate change, changes in land use and cover, and other factors (such floods and droughts) in a way that increases resilience at the local and basin levels.
Take the lead in creating and putting into practice cutting-edge techniques for gathering and evaluating data on water from geographic data sources in order to address issues like water scarcity, governance, and climate resilience.
To evaluate the present and future conditions of the irrigated areas as well as the appropriateness of the land for future irrigation water expansion, conduct geospatial mapping of the irrigated areas in the provinces of Punjab and KP.
