Responsibilities:
Maintaining publication schedules and departmental databases, and otherwise tracking the publication process for approximately 10-15 titles per year
Communicating with authors and agents throughout the publication process, as well as acting as an interdepartmental liaison
Logging agented submissions for the department, evaluating manuscripts, writing reader reports, and sending rejection letters
Drafting contract and check requests, generating sales reports and editorial P&Ls, and tracking payments and invoices
Writing flap copy, title information sheets, and catalog copy
Basic administrative support, including schedule coordination and travel

Qualifications:
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and exceptional time management
A genuine interest in book publishing and knowledge of the current reading audience over a broad range of fiction and nonfiction

Proven ability to adapt to an increasingly digital work environment
0-1 years; this is an entry-level position
Preference for internships in the publishing industry or editorial experience in an academic setting
Candidates with alternative (non-publishing industry-based) office experience are welcome
Bachelor’s Degree or equal experience
