Responsibilities:

During vessel discharge/loading, make sure that every container is sealed. Document any non-sealed containers and let the hatch foreman know about them.

When Out of Gauge containers are being emptied, update the tally sheet with the relevant information.

Position vehicles beneath a crane and In the event that the switcher’s Vehicle Mounted Terminal (VMT) malfunctions or fails to display the location during discharge, kindly notify the switcher operator of his yard location manually.

During vessel discharge, inspect every container, note any damages in the MDT using the appropriate damage codes, and notify the vessel foreman of any issues. In the event that significant container damage is noticed, prepare a thorough damage report and give it to the hatch foreman for approval and duty officer stamping.

Spot containers that are about to exit turn and note the subsequent actions: In the sequence sheet, update them. Tell the hatch foreman if a container is empty so that he may make sure it is loaded into the bay according to POD and line. When a container is full, ask the hatch foreman if it has to be grounded in the undercrane before loading the remaining containers in the proper order.
