Responsibilities:

Makes the appropriate selections of tools and equipment, such as paints, brushes, rollers, spray guns, drop cloths, rags, ladders, scaffolds, tape, cleaning supplies, etc.

Chooses pre-mixed paints or mixes the necessary amounts of pigment, oil, thinning agent, and drying agent to produce paints to match particular colors.

Arranges for the transportation of large or bulky objects or carries materials and equipment to the job site.

Prepares the site by using drop cloths to cover furniture, equipment, and flooring, and masking windows, doors, and other trim as needed.

Surfaces by cleaning, doing little repairs and patchwork on wood, metal, and stone, polishing completed surfaces, and adding glazing as needed. Installs, takes out, and replaces wall-mounted components, ceiling tiles, cove bases, and other comparable accessory pieces that are required to create a polished and finished look.

Completes caulking, sanding, taping, applying special finishes and matching colors, polishing and waxing completed surfaces, and glazing as needed.

Fixes small issues with spray and roller equipment and creates effects resembling wood, marble, brick, or tile.

Suggests using different colors or materials to improve and speed up work.

Requests and obtains supplies and machinery, and keeps basic logs and time sheets.

Qualification:

One year of trade school or two years of painting experience at a facility of a comparable size.

Some medium-to-heavy equipment and tool lifting.

There will be some exposure to intense heat, noise, dust, and filthy areas where infection control is necessary.
